Pool Rules

Children under 7 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Parents are responsible for the supervision of their children at all times.

No glass wear or breakable plastic of any kind will be permitted in the pool area.

Running, dunking, back dives, jumps, backward flips or disrupted “horse play” of any kind are prohibited in the pool area.

Flotation devices, swim masks, snorkels, fins, will be allowed at the discretion of the lifeguard.

Food and drink are not permitted in the pool area.

No one will be permitted to hang on the ropes, lane lines or diving blocks.

No one is allowed in the pools without a lifeguard on duty.

Only staff members are allowed in the pool offices.

The Weinstein JCC is not responsible for lost or stolen articles.

Children who are not toilet trained must wear swimmie diapers in the pool.

Inclement weather:  At the first sign of thunder or lightening, the pool will close for 15 minutes. 
Each additional clap of thunder or lightening will delay the re-opening 15 minutes from that point.

Diving allowed in the deep end only of the Lewis (lap) pool on blocks 2-5.  Absolutely no diving permitted in the Strenheimer Recreational pool.

Pool shoes are recommended for the Sternheimer Recreational pool.

Repeat violators of pool rules are subject to one or all of the following: sitting out, calling the parent or guardian or
suspension from the pool for a specified length of time.

Bathing suits are required in the pool. No cut-off or gym shorts permitted.

Use of flotation devices or noodles is not allowed during heavy loads; they may be allowed at other times with the discretion of the lifeguard.

Persons with hair below their ears are encouraged to wear a ponytail.

Persons with open sores, skin infections or wearing bandages are not permitted in the water.

The pool office and telephones are off limits to guests.  The phone is for emergency use only.

The Francis A. Lewis Pool is strictly for laps during open swim time. Younger persons may participate if swimming laps.

Kick boards, pull-bouys, fins, aqua belts etc. will be provided for guests from the member storage closet only.

Sternheimer Pool (Big Slide) Slide Rules
Must be 42 inches tall
Must go down feet first
Flat on back
Arms crossed over chest
Feet crossed at ankles
Only 1 person on slide at a time
Exit water immediately after sliding
Persons in line wait until previous person follows to side of pool
Do not run up the stairs to top of slide
Do not lean over rails
No parent may take his/her child down the slide

Small Slide Rules
Must be under 42 inches tall
Only 1 person on slide at a time
Must go down feet first
No children may climb up the slide
Small children must be attended by an adult
