Richmond Jewish Foundation
President & CEO
In partnership with Richmond Jewish Foundation, Weinstein Jewish Community Center offers a full spectrum of planned giving, endowment and special gift opportunities to alumni, parents, corporate contributors and other donors. Donations to endowment funds enable donors to create ongoing resources to meet current and future charitable, religious and educational needs at the Weinstein JCC. Interest from these funds will be used to support specific programs and services at the Weinstein JCC.
Create a Jewish Legacy
The Weinstein JCC is participating in the community wide Create a Jewish Legacy program. Create a Jewish Legacy is a community public awareness campaign designed to help individuals and families support the Jewish causes they care about; building a strong, vibrant community, now and in the future with bequests for permanent endowments. The program promotes the message that all of us have the ability to make a difference in the lives of future Jewish generations.
New Named Special Purpose Funds
Our partner Richmond Jewish Foundation will establish new funds for a designated or special purpose. A fund of $10,000 (ten-thousand dollars) or more will be invested in perpetuity to create income for a JCC related purpose of your choosing such as sports, food services, visual arts, Jewish culture, JCC Forum or capital reserve. Funds may be named after donors or to honor someone living or departed.
How can you fund an endowment?
Bequest – You may wish to leave an outright or contingent gift through your will or estate plan, leaving a percentage or a dollar amount.
Donor advised fund distribution – You can recommend a distribution from your existing donor advised fund, philanthropic fund, supporting foundation or private foundation to benefit a new or existing JCC endowment fund.
Gifts of appreciated securities - Richmond Jewish Foundation will accept gifts of stocks or bonds for inclusion in a JCC endowment fund. You can receive a federal income tax deduction for gifts of appreciated securities, avoiding capital gains tax.
Real Estate – Richmond Jewish Foundation can assist you with a gift of real estate to benefit a new or existing JCC endowment fund.
Life Insurance - Younger donors may fund a new policy to create an eventual endowment. Donors with grown children may consider gifting an existing policy.
Ezra Charitable Gift Annuity - This gift offers you income for life and provides charity with a contribution after your lifetime.
