Israeli Artists in Residence October Events
First Events of the Patrons of the Arts Program
Monday, October 4th at 7:00 p.m.
On October 4th the “In Your Home” workshop with Israeli Artists begins at 7:00 p.m. and runs every
Monday through November 15th. Participants in this workshop will create a multi-media art piece which will explore questions of religious identity and personal and collective history of the community. Some of the pieces will be selected to be displayed in the Sara D. November Art Gallery opening for this project on November 18. $100 M / $120 NM. The Sara D. November Art Gallery will host the opening art reception for Israeli Artists in Residence, Nelly Agassi and Assaf Evron at 7:00 p.m. on October 7th. The show will run through November 15th.

“Continuous Devotion” Artist talk with Nelly Agassi. Agassi received a number of prestigious awards, including the Award for Artistic Encouragement from the Israel Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport (2008), and the Nathan Gottesdiener Foundation for Israel Art Prize (2003). In addition, she has participated in three residencies, Art Omi International Arts Center (New York, 2006), La Cite des Arts (Paris, 2003) and Mino Paper Art Village Project (Japan, 2002).
Thursday, October 28th, 7:00 p.m.
“Crystal Habit” Artist talk with Assaf Evron, photographer – has exhibited his work in exhibitions both in Israel and Europe. This past spring he was honored with a solo photography exhibition at the Haifa Museum of Art and before that at the Heder Contemporary Art Gallery in Tel Aviv.
Kids’ Place “School’s Out” Days
Kids’ Place opens at 7:30 a.m. on the School’s Out days and stays open until 6:00 p.m. The children will be kept safe, happy, busy and fulfilled. $40 M / $50 NM per child, per day.

A community-wide senior program for adults, caregivers and those wanting information on senior topics, agencies and projects. 30+ vendors and great lecturers will be included. Light snacks, health screenings and flu shots available.

Fundraising Concert – October 2nd:
Henry S. Fine Memorial Fund for Special Needs
Henry Fine was a wonderful friend to many people and a well-known member of the Jewish community and the Richmond community at large. He passed away suddenly last August at just 50 years old. A fund has been established in his memory at the Richmond Jewish Foundation. In an effort to raise money for the fund, which benefits families who have children with autism and other special needs, the Susan Greenbaum Band will perform Carole King’s “Tapestry” in its entirety at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 2nd at the Weinstein JCC. A dessert reception will be provided by Gail Grandis and Lynn Simonoff of Pickups Plus. Portions of tickets to this event are tax deductible ($50 is deductible on a $75 individual ticket and $800 is deductible on a $1000 table).
