Richmond Jewish Foundation Has No Exposure to Madoff Investments
Richmond Jewish Foundation confirmed that it has no investments with Bernard Madoff in its hedge fund of funds or the rest of its portfolio. Foundation leadership expressed support and sympathy for individuals and other philanthropies affected by the alleged Madoff investment fraud. Leadership noted that "While Richmond Jewish Foundation is pleased to have not been entangled in these difficulties, we recognize that other Jewish community foundations, and generous members of the national Jewish community are victims of this apparent fraud." This sad matter comes at a time already marked by recession, credit crunch, stock market volatility, and other distress impacting charities, families and individuals. Richmond Jewish Foundation is the planned gifts, legacy and endowments branch of the community. For more information log on to www.rjfoundation.net
