We Want You!  The Games steering committee and our Team Richmond Delegation are looking for host families, volunteers and athletes.  We want the entire community to get involved with this great community event.  Please sign up by going to www.MaccabiRichmond.com.  If you would like additional information, we have set up times for you to come learn more.  

Team Richmond Athlete Information

Team Richmond will be offering an informational meeting for the 2010 JCC Maccabi Games^® on February 11th at 7:00 p.m. at the Weinstein JCC.  This meeting will be open to the parents of all athletes who would like to learn more about the Games in Richmond this summer. Individual sport athletes must be between the ages of 12 and 16 as of July 31, 2010 to participate; team sport athletes must be between 13 and 16 years old as of July 31, 2010 to participate.  You can also contact Jordan Pinsky at 545-8609 or jpinsky@weinsteinjcc.org for more information about Team Richmond.   

Host Families and Volunteers

There will be two informational days to find out about being a host family or a volunteer.  Come to the Purim Carnival on Sunday, February 28th from 12:30 -3:15 pm.  You can also stop by on Sunday, March 7th from 12:30 – 4:00 pm.  On both days if you register as a host family or a volunteer you will receive raffle tickets to enter a drawing for great prizes.  You can also contact Morgan Santos at 545-8639 or msantos@weinsteinjcc.org for more information about being a host family or to volunteer for the 2010 JCC Maccabi Games^®.   

JCC Maccabi Games® 2010 Coaches Needed

We are looking for volunteer Coaches for the 2010 JCC Maccabi Games® that are coming to Richmond next summer. These are just a few of the many volunteers that we will need for the Games when we host August 1 – 6, 2010. Coaches work in conjunction with the Delegation Head to recruit and select their team. They schedule practices to prepare their team for the competition and are also chaperones for their team the week of the games.

Richmond will be offering the following sports: Baseball, Basketball, Bowling, Dance, Soccer, Swimming, Table Tennis and Tennis. For more information, contact Jordan Pinsky, Delegation Head, at 545-8609 or jpinsky@weinsteinjcc.org.

An Afternoon with Russian Opera Singer Vladimir Lapin
RESCHEDULED – Now Performing on Sunday, March 28th at 2:00 pm.
Vladimir has performed in such venues as Avery Fisher Hall with the New York Philharmonic, and opera concerts in Novafeltria and Rimini, Italy. His musical performance at the Weinstein JCC will include Russian, Yiddish and Jewish music as well as some Broadway tunes.
This program is sponsored by the Weinstein JCC & University of Richmond Osher Institute.
