The Weinstein JCC’s Jewish Family Theatre is the only Jewish Theatre in the Richmond area. It helps to meet the cultural needs of the growing Jewish community in Richmond and surrounding areas, by producing theatre with Jewish content. JFT is committed to presenting plays which challenge, enlighten and entertain…plays which otherwise might not be produced in this area…plays which connect Jews to their own cultural community, and build bridges to others.

The JFT gives a voice to the creativity brimming in our community and encourage people to explore the art in their own lives, as well as bring theatre to the community that is both affordable, and the highest quality.

As a true community theatre, the JFT operates with an all-volunteer base. Further, we are dedicated to offering a variety of opportunities for our community to learn, enjoy, and participate in all aspects of live theatre. We welcome friends of all ages and ethnicities, from beginners to experienced pros, and ask them to help us explore the magic of the stage. logo

Show Dates & Times:

Set in Damon Runyon's mythical New York City, this Broadway classic introduces us to colorful characters who have become legends: Sarah Brown, the upright but uptight "mission doll", out to reform the evildoers of Times Square; Sky Masterson, the slick, high-rolling gambler who woos her on a bet and ends up falling in love; Adelaide, the nightclub performer whose chronic cold is brought on by the fact she's been engaged to the same man for 14 year; and Nathan Detroit, her devoted fiancé, desperate as always to find a spot for his infamous floating crap game.

Everything works out in the end, thanks to the twists and turns of the hilarious fast-paced book by Jo Swerling and Abe Burrows, with a bright, brassy immortal score by the class Broadway composer Frank Loesser.
